Position Purpose

The Testing and Linkage Coordinator (TLC) is responsible for coordinating HIV/STI testing events for Vivent Health's Health Promotion Department on-site and in the community to provide testing to the populations with the highest vulnerability to HIV and STIs. The TLC assists with community outreach, recruitment, and engagement around HIV/STI testing and awareness as well as providing direct client services. The coordinator also works with the local health department to report newly diagnosed individuals and assists health department staff to coordinate partner services. In addition, the coordinator assists the Testing and Linkage Programs Manager and Director of Health Promotion in monitoring and assessing program data, completing program reports, and writing grant applications as needed.

Scope of Responsibilities

Vivent Health is one of the nation’s largest providers of HIV prevention, care and treatment services with a budget approaching $130 million and employing over 400 professionals.

Vivent Health currently operates in multiple states nationwide. It embraces a Market Culture to increase access to care, enhance quality outcomes, achieve and surpass financial performance expectations and has an aggressive plan to expand into additional states. 

Essential Functions

  • Assist with overseeing all aspects of Vivent Health's testing programs, including program coordination, recruitment, scheduling, promotion, and quality assurance.
  • Perform programmatic duties such as testing, outreach, linkage to care, and specimen prep.
  • Maintain Phlebotomy certification.
  • Ensure that testing activities are focused on Vivent Health's funded priority populations.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality standards per state and federal regulations.
  • Identify, develop, and establish community testing venues to increase service delivery to vulnerable populations, such as men who have sex with men, individuals experiencing homelessness, individuals who use IV drugs, individuals who participate in sex work, and individuals who have recently been released from incarceration.
  • Assist in developing, selecting, and distributing new education materials and culturally sensitive literature and other media based on current need.
  • Assist the Testing and Linkage Programs Manager with regular testing team meetings, and communicate program testing initiatives per the Testing and Linkage Programs Manager and Director of Health Promotion.
  • Hire, on-board, train, and schedule work assignments for program staff.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication regarding program expectations to testing staff.
  • Along with the Testing and Linkage Program Manager, set standards of accountability for testing staff and ensure program metrics are being met.
  • Ensure testing staff maintains appropriate and timely documentation and reporting of all testing and linkage services.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or mental health, human services, health education, or public health, plus three years of related experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in providing HIV testing services required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in supervising or coordinating programs and staff required.
  • Experience working with individuals of diverse cultures, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities and/or expressions required.
  • Must have and be willing to maintain a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and personal vehicle liability insurance.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within and throughout Austin utilizing a personal vehicle.
