Position Purpose

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides HR guidance for assigned departments to ensure effective planning and implementation of key initiatives that affect the workforce. Through this work as an internal resource you will establish credibility with leaders as a valuable partner for business and people issues. You will effectively collaborate with other members of the Human Resources Team to develop and implement key strategies and initiatives to meet business objectives and/or manage a variety of Human Resource projects as needed.

Scope of Responsibilities

Vivent Health is one of the nation’s largest providers of HIV prevention, care and treatment services with a budget approaching $130 million and employing over 400 professionals.

The unique, nationally recognized Vivent Health HIV Medical Home model of care assures that everyone with HIV has access to medical, dental, mental health and social services and provides the best opportunity for patients to achieve high quality health outcomes. Vivent Health also provides aggressive HIV prevention services to gay men, injection drug users and others at the highest risk for HIV infection. 

Vivent Health currently operates in multiple states nationwide. It embraces a Market Culture to increase access to care, enhance quality outcomes and achieve and surpass financial performance expectations and has an aggressive plan to expand into additional states.

Essential Functions

  • Working with business units to facilitate resolution of employee relations issues, labor relations issues, redeployment including organizational structure changes, performance management, and compensation needs.
  • Providing coaching and leadership skills development, as needed, to enhance workforce engagement, development, retention and succession planning.
  • Counseling leaders and management to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, practices, and the collective bargaining agreement(s). Counsel leaders on employee relations investigations.
  • Develops new policies, practices, and procedures to align with business objectives.
  • Monitoring and administering practices to ensure customer departments comply with FLSA, Wage & Hour, FMLA, OFLA, ADA, EEOC, ERISA, regulatory bodies, and applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules and regulations that pertain to HR management.
  • When appropriate, conducts appropriate and timely investigations in regards to concerns brought forward, regardless of level within the organization.
  • Works collaboratively with the Human Resources team to consistently apply practice across the organization as a whole and proactively solve challenges.
  • Any other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, required. 
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ progressively responsible HR experience with generalist exposure to multiple HR functions, or equivalent combination of HR training/experience in areas of employee coaching/counseling/relations, labor relations or organizational development.
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal Leave laws and Wage and Hour laws.
  • Broad knowledge of other areas of Human Resources responsibilities including hiring/recruiting, training and development, HRIS systems, unemployment, worker’s compensation, leave administration, regulatory compliance, benefits, and compensation.
  • Organized and timely with responding to requests, holds self to high standards and is accountable, and provides excellent customer service.
  • Ability to speak to groups and give presentations.
  • Uses effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Business Administration or Human Resources Management is highly preferred. PHR/SPHR certification is optional.
  • Experience working in a strategic HR Business Partner model within a healthcare organization highly preferred.
