Position Purpose

The Development Associate will support the Director of Development in building a comprehensive and sustainable philanthropic development program focused on major gifts in the region. The Development Associate will facilitate and support overall development operations focused on event logistics, donor relations, and data entry. This position is local, but is part of a national fundraising team that is quickly growing its capacity and operations.

Scope of Responsibilities

Vivent Health is one of the nation’s largest providers of HIV prevention, care and treatment services with a budget approaching $130 million and employing over 400 professionals.

The unique, nationally recognized Vivent Health HIV Medical Home model of care assures that everyone with HIV has access to medical, dental, mental health and social services and provides the best opportunity for patients to achieve high quality health outcomes. Vivent Health also provides aggressive HIV prevention services to gay men, injection drug users and others at the highest risk for HIV infection. 

Vivent Health currently operates in multiple states nationwide. It embraces a Market Culture to increase access to care, enhance quality outcomes and achieve and surpass financial performance expectations and has an aggressive plan to expand into additional states.

Essential Functions

  • Supports the Director of Development in all fundraising work, including moves management, stewarding donors, and tracking success against goals.
  • Works closely with the Director of Events on executing local events and event follow-up.
  • Collaborates with the Annual Fund manager to coordinate annual giving appeals and local outreach.
  • Liaises with the Stewardship Manager to help facilitate donor relations so that they are donor-centric and focused on regional impact.
  • Sends acknowledgment letters and supports the Director of Development with individual donor stewardship.
  • Works with the Data Services and Prospect Research Manager to ensure data integrity in Raiser’s Edge, enters gifts, and supports prospect research as requested.
  • Supports the Director of Development on database management, ensuring all prospect activities and communications are accurately entered into Raiser’s Edge in a timely manner.
  • Represents Vivent Health at local community events and fundraising events. 
  • Manages and recruits local event volunteers. 
  • Other appropriate duties, as required.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of one to two (1?2) years of work experience in development, sales, or an equivalent field.
  • Previous experience using Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or comparable database software preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and PC proficiency required.
  •  Ability to drive personal vehicle to support fundraising events and functions and ability to maintain valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance.
  • Experience in healthcare a plus
