Position Purpose  

 

The Vivent Health HIT Specialist works with the Software Systems Specialist to ensure that staff in the organization have support with Vivent Health’s Health Information Technology Systems. The HIT Specialist will use and maintain the Health Information Technology Systems and support users of those systems.    

 

The Vivent Health HIT Specialist reports directly to the Software Systems Specialist and works collaboratively with the Quality Management Team.   

 

Vivent Health’s Quality Management program has overall responsibility for supporting Vivent Health’s Health Information Technology systems, and for measuring the quality of the health services departments, facilitating initiatives to improve quality, and regularly reporting on Vivent Health’s quality outcomes.

NOTE: This role could be located in Denver, St. Louis or Austin!

Scope of Responsibilities

Vivent Health is one of the nation’s largest providers of HIV prevention, care and treatment services with a budget approaching $130 million and employing over 400 professionals.

The unique, nationally recognized Vivent Health HIV Medical Home model of care assures that everyone with HIV has access to medical, dental, mental health and social services and provides the best opportunity for patients to achieve high quality health outcomes. Vivent Health also provides aggressive HIV prevention services to gay men, injection drug users and others at the highest risk for HIV infection. 

Vivent Health currently operates in multiple states nationwide. It embraces a Market Culture to increase access to care, enhance quality outcomes and achieve and surpass financial performance expectations and has an aggressive plan to expand into additional states.


Essential Functions

  • Supports users of Epic, WISHIN, WISDOM and Provide Enterprise including training, technical support and access requests
  • Manages the Health Information Technology ticketing system Samanage.
  • Works with the relevant vendor helpdesk to respond to internal systems questions
  • Continues to develop knowledge and understanding of EPIC, WISHIN, WISDOM and PROVIDE ENTERPRISE.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by the Software Systems Specialist.

Required Experience and Skills

  •  Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows, and other databses
  • Experience with Epic EHR, including EpicCare Ambulatory and Cadence required
  •  Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
  • Adheres to all agency policies including, but not limited to, Employee Handbook, Confidentiality, Healthcare Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, and other policies.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • An Influenza vaccine is required of all new employees at the time of employment, and is required thereafter on an annual basis.
  • A tuberculin/TB skin test is required of all new employees at the time of employment, and may be required thereafter on an annual basis, depending on position.

  • Experience training people on technical systems
  • Experience with Provide Enterprise software and EPIC WISDOM.
