Position Purpose

 The Health Technical Writer is responsible for working with internal teams for the content, formatting, and presentation of collateral to support Vivent Health’s Integration Team. The Technical Writer will oversee the preparation and finalization of all documentation including the development of a policy process that includes inter- and intra-departmental & market project teams.

Scope of Responsibilities

Vivent Health is one of the nation’s largest providers of HIV prevention, care and treatment services with a budget approaching $130 million and employing over 400 professionals.

The unique, nationally recognized Vivent Health HIV Medical Home model of care assures that everyone with HIV has access to medical, dental, mental health and social services and provides the best opportunity for patients to achieve high quality health outcomes. Vivent Health also provides aggressive HIV prevention services to gay men, injection drug users and others at the highest risk for HIV infection. 

Vivent Health currently operates in multiple states nationwide. It embraces a Market Culture to increase access to care, enhance quality outcomes and achieve and surpass financial performance expectations and has an aggressive plan to expand into additional states.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for independently writing science-based education materials and providing communications across mixed media (print, digital, web)
  • Managing the entire editorial process for new product collateral including project plan development, proofreading, editing, copyediting, formatting, referencing, permissions, approvals, and publication rules management
  • Leverage appropriate approaches and publication techniques to gather content, document according to national standards and procedures, and prioritize based on corporate objectives
  • All other duties as assigned by supervising staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate or graduate degree to public health, health care, or a human service discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field is optimal.
  •  Ensure documents comply with the appropriate regulatory guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with the integration team members to deliver high-quality clinical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Review and edit clinical documents for clinical development projects in multiple therapeutic areas and at various stages of development.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years medical writing experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry or 5 years general technical writing experience required
  • Experience may include writing experience in a medical, pharmaceutical, medical device, clinical research, medical or research industry, or combination of these skills
  • Literature search experience is preferred
  • Biomedical, sciences, medicine or similar health related discipline preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of HIV disease and related issues, disease progression, and treatment options.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical, social and mental health delivery systems.
