Position Purpose


As a technology leader, Vivent Health seeks a person to oversee all aspects of our new and growing Business Intelligence platform and staff.  The Manager of Business Intelligence will oversee at least 1 staff member, but will also be actively involved in the development, monitoring and improvements in data visualization from various technology platforms used in daily operations.  This person will work closely with all Vivent Health Directors and Executives to ensure all application data will support valuable insight and reporting.  Candidate will also design, test and implement new applications to further leverage our Business Intelligence framework.


Scope of Responsibilities

Vivent Health is one of the nation’s largest providers of HIV prevention, care and treatment services with a budget approaching $130 million and employing over 400 professionals.

The unique, nationally recognized Vivent Health HIV Medical Home model of care assures that everyone with HIV has access to medical, dental, mental health and social services and provides the best opportunity for patients to achieve high quality health outcomes. Vivent Health also provides aggressive HIV prevention services to gay men, injection drug users and others at the highest risk for HIV infection. 

Vivent Health currently operates in multiple states nationwide. It embraces a Market Culture to increase access to care, enhance quality outcomes and achieve and surpass financial performance expectations and has an aggressive plan to expand into additional states.


Position Responsibilities

  1. Manage team of Business Intelligence Engineers, including performance reviews and staffing.  
  2. Oversee Vivent Health’s pharmacy database program, including daily monitoring and logic updates.   Work with analysts and Pharmacy personnel to enhance processes for efficiencies and compliance.   Ensure platform is scalable to meet corporate growth.
  3. Develop expertise in all applications used for Business Intelligence reporting and visualization including: SQL stack (SQL Integration Services, SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), Visual Studio, SQL Database Management, SQL Analysis Services and SQL Data (OLAP) Cubes), Talend, and Tableau.
  4. Gain knowledge of other application databases for improved data visualization including:  EPIC Clarity (including Willow), Groupware/Provide Enterprise, MIP Abila, Service Point and others.
  5. Create solid working relationships with programmers and developers of software vendors.   Candidate should understand history, functionality to better assess how various programs integrate.   
  6. Communicate and collaborate effectively with various internal team members and senior management.
  7. Manage several projects at one time, with specific timelines, and meet or exceed completion date objectives.   Understanding and use of Smartsheet Project Management tool helpful.


Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years relevant experience with demonstrated increases in responsibility and breadth of experience across all SQL applications. 
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related, or equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
  • Advanced skills - SQL Database Management, SQL Integration and Reporting Services, SQL Analysis Services and Data Cube Design, Visual Studio.  Knowledge of and experience with Tableau Server, Tableau On-Line and Talend VERY helpful.
  • SQL Certification(s) (MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, MCSE: Business Intelligence, MCSE: Data Platform, etc.)
  • OLAP Cube creation, modification, and maintenance.
  • SQL programming proficiency
  • Experience working with Tableau and Talend applications 
  • Ability to work on several projects at a time, independent thinker and worker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite with and expert-level mastery of Excel.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
  • An Influenza vaccine is required of all new employees at the time of employment, and is required thereafter on an annual basis.
  • A tuberculin/TB skin test is required of all new employees at the time of employment, and may be required thereafter on an annual basis, depending on position.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with data in from Healthcare, Pharmacy, Finance or Medical Revenue Cycle Management applications.
  • SQL Certification(s) (MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, MCSE: Business Intelligence, MCSE: Data Platform, etc.)
  • C# proficiency
