Position Purpose


The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for playing a leading role in developing, guiding, and implementing branding, external communications, public relations, and marketing strategies to articulate the mission, programs, services, and events of Vivent Health. The Marketing and Communications Manager works closely with the development/fundraising and program teams to communicate Vivent Health’s mission to our stakeholders and patients. The Marketing and Communications Manager also develops messaging and campaigns to promote special events and programmatic activities. The Marketing and Communications Manager is supervised by the Director of Strategic Communications. 

Scope of Responsibilities

Vivent Health is one of the nation’s largest providers of HIV prevention, care and treatment services with a budget approaching $150 million and employing over 400 professionals. 

The unique, nationally recognized Vivent Health HIV Medical Home model of care assures that everyone with HIV has access to medical, dental, mental health and social services and provides the best opportunity for patients to achieve high quality health outcomes. Vivent Health also provides aggressive HIV prevention services to gay men, injection drug users and others at the highest risk for HIV infection. 

Vivent Health currently operates in multiple states nationwide. It embraces a Market Culture to increase access to care, enhance quality outcomes and achieve and surpass financial performance expectations and has an aggressive plan to expand into additional states.
  

Position Responsibilities

Communications

  • Working under the leadership of the Director of Strategic Communications and in close collaboration with Vivent Health  fundraising and programmatic leaders, support the development, implementation, and evaluation of annual and long-term communications plans that support enterprise-wide goals. 
  • In collaboration with external communications team, develop, implement and evaluate recurring and special external communications, marketing and advertising campaigns that support the goals of the communications plan.
  • Ensure messaging and brand consistency are woven into all Vivent Health external communications and public-facing activities.
  • Update Vivent Health external communication platforms on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of all information.
  • Analyze communications strategies to ensure consistent, high-quality messaging.
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of new communications initiatives.

Marketing/Branding

  • Ensure adherence to Vivent Health brand standards for all programs and departments of Vivent Health, with special attention paid to fundraising as well as developing patient and geographic markets.
  • Coordinate integrated marketing and advertising strategies for the organization, especially to advertise multiple and overlapping events and to attract prospective donors, patients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure marketing and communications efforts reach desired audiences through careful attention to analytics
  • Build awareness or support efforts to build awareness in the community of the programs, services, fundraising campaigns, and events offered by Vivent Health.

 Social Media Management

  • Manage Vivent Health social media platforms and strategies to promote Vivent Health’s mission, programs, and special events through execution of thoughtful engagement strategies
  • Measure through defined metrics the effectiveness of Vivent Health marketing, advertising and social media activities and strategies with close attention to audience segmentation
  • Proactive management of Vivent Health social media platforms
  • Analyze social media content and strategies to ensure effective, consistent, high-quality messaging.
  • Grow and manage social media communities and networks, including but not limited Facebook, Twitter, and other similar social media outposts.
  • Establish, monitor and achieve benchmarks for measuring effectiveness and growth of on-line community.

 General

  • Work within established approval procedures. 
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Work independently and within a team.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, advertising, marketing, journalism, or liberal arts preferred
    • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in strategic organizational communications
    • At least two years of demonstrated experience with promoting fundraising events, walks, direct mail, individual donor development, and/or similar fundraising activities preferred
    • Demonstrated experience in designing successful marketing plans, including media, print, website, event collateral, social media outreach, and public relations required
    • Demonstrated commitment to racial, ethnic, social, gender, economic and LGBTQI justice and advocacy
    • Experience in implementation of messaging and marketing strategies, specifically related to both print and web-based messaging required
    • Experience in analyzing and reporting on social media/marketing metrics required
    • Experience with health-related messaging and marketing preferred
    • Experience with various software programs, including Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel, as well as web applications such as Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube, required
    • Experience with graphic and publishing applications and donor/constituent software preferred
    • Experience with on-line marketing software highly preferred
    • Ability to speak Spanish in both a conversational and medical voice, preferred
    • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills required
    • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects
